Let’s Cook!

Our sweet little Ms. Scarlett! This little ball of energy is such a joy … quick smiles, infectious laugh, and the sweetest spirit. I couldn’t resist gathering these adorable pictures together into a two page layout so they could join the family album in style!

The Tea Party

In recent years, a political group called, “The Tea Party” has sprung up … forever changing the picture in my mind when I hear that phrase. When our daughter called to tell me she’d emailed me some adorable photos of their tea party, well … I was pleasantly surprised! I immediately put them together in a pair of memory book pages. Adorable! Simply Adorable!

My favorite picture has to be the one where the youngest is holding her saucer with her feet and picking up her cup … how precious is that!

It’s Fall!

Time for the annual pumpkin patch visits, piles of brightly colored leaves, and the sound of after-school activities on Friday nights!  Apple Pie! Pumpkin bread! Campfires in the evening.  What’s not to like about Fall?

One of the things I’ve come to look forward to every fall is the new stash of photos my sweet daughter sends me from their annual visit to The Underwood Family Farms. Today I was working on some tutorials for our upcoming retreat (details at . . .  c’mon! Join the fun! There’s always room for another digital scrapbooking friend at the table!) and decided to take a break and finish this layout from this years pictures.

Thinking about DigiChick Retreat

Things have been crazy busy this summer! The Iowa acreage sold. We had the auction. We bought a place in Alabama. We moved in the day before our children began arriving! Then we had a houseful of guests for 2 weeks. What fun we had too!

Now that things are slowing down a bit, I’ve begun to think about the upcoming fall retreats for The MaskMasters. The first weekend is in October and will be our standard weekend filled with training for beginners in the digital scrapbooking world.  The second weekend is in November and will be for our more advanced DigiChicks (as we like to call them!)

One of the lessons we’ll be covering is how to make your own Photo Cuts like this:

Once I had the promotional ad done, I decided to use the technique in a layout.

So? What do you think? This could be a fun new skill to have? Spice up those memory book pages a wee bit, maybe?

Spring is in the air!

Even though we are busy with our auction, shopping for a new home in Alabama, and packing up 15 years of memories and stuff (what’s left after the big sale anyway!) I’m finding time here and there to create pages with the photos Tara has been sharing! I love getting new photos of the grandkids in the mail!

Warm spring weather gives our daughter a welcome opportunity to capture the children doing what they love to do . . . Explore!  They love turning over rocks to see what kinds of critters they’ll find hiding there, climbing trees and rocks, or digging around in holes found in the woods.  There is no fear . . . only wonder!

Gunfight at the OK Corral

A bit of nostaglia hit last night and led me to cruising through old photo files. Couldn’t resist getting these pictures of Noah into a page. One his 5th birthday, he happened to be staying with us. At the time, he was quite obsessed with all-things-cowboy, so we got him a holster, two cap guns, and a goodly supply of caps.  The rocking horse that Bruce made for him when he was a baby was still at our place, so Noah had all the makings of a . . . GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRAL!  When opened his present he was SO EXCITED!
