Spring Retreat is right around the corner … why don’t you check your calendar and make arrangements to come, endulge in your digital scrapbooking obsession? It won’t be the same without Y-O-U!
We’ll have lots of time to work on finishing up those albums you’ve been working on … or maybe you’re like me and MOST of the ‘work’ done so far is all in your head??? … then COME … we’ll make progress together!
Some of the Photoshop skills we’ll be focusing on include using Adjustment Layers to do MORE than just photo corrections. You won’t BELIEVE how much power there is yet to explore!!! WOO! HOO!!!
How about learning to make your OWN brushes and patterns? Or adding ‘sewing’ to your layouts? It’s all the rage right now and you won’t believe how easy it is! We’ll make our own tags, papers, buttons, ribbons, and even some WordArt!
This is a weekend you WON’T want to miss!!!Call or email soon … there are only 18 spots total and we already have five commitments so don’t get left out!
That’s what it’s been like around our household this fall … everything zipping by at break-neck-speed. I’m still trying to figure out just how to reconcile what I thought empty-nesting was going to be and what we are actually experiencing!
Our trip to Panama C.A. was wonderful! One week was spent with Tara, Nathan, and the babies at a nice resort on the Pacific coast (will have some fun scrapbook pages soon!)

The rest of the time Bruce and I explored the country. We wandered as far north and west as Boqueta, stayed at quite the interesting hostel in David, and ended our trip by staying at the old US Military Base in Clayton (now a suburb of Panama-the city) where we had the opportunity to sit on the balcony of a beautiful restaurant at the Miraflora Locks (stock photo below) and watch heavily laden ships make their way through…fascinating and very peaceful.
A few days after returning from this trip, I was off to Clear Lake (IA) for our Digital Scrapbooking Retreat. WHAT FUN! We had a fantastic group of women – stretched our knowledge and use of Photoshop, shared our ideas and inspiration with each other, ate fantastic food (thanks Annette!), laughed lots, and took time to enjoy the beauty of Iowa in the fall. Everyone is now signed up at DSP, so hope to soon see some of their layouts in the galleries there!
Just got back from an excursion! A new ‘retreat’ business has opened in Clear Lake, Iowa and we (Kim C-business partner, and I) went to meetup with the owners and have a tour today.
It’s fantastic! Just the perfect hide-away for women who want to work on their family memory books, stretch their Photoshop skills, and be pampered! I will try to add some details later, but for now I just wanted to let everyone know THIS is where we’ll be having the November 9, 10, and 11th retreat … SO-O-O much better than a hotel!
- Big kitchen … great food (prepared by Annette, on-site … no ‘caterers’!)
- Large tables in well lit room, comfy padded chairs!
- Large format printer on-site.
- Big screen LCD TV (in case you’d actually want to leave your computer screen…???)
- Well stocked frig (beverages for most tastes)
- Beautiful scenery and paths for anyone who needs to get up and stretch … or take some gorgeous fall photos for your backgrounds or embellishments?!
- Comfy beds all decked out with high-thread-count linens! yummy!
AND OF COURSE … there will be all the fun FREEBIES that WE will be bringing to help you with your page layouts! Stay tuned … I’ll be back soon with details!
